By Plane:
Currently state owned Turkish airlines is covering most of the domestic flights, however in the beginning of 2004 some private companies started to operate as well and some others are making plans to get in to the Market. Istanbul has two airports. Ataturk airport (IST) on the European part of Istanbul is the main airport, however due to its heavy traffic, Sabiha Gokcen airport (SAW) on the Asian side of Istanbul has become popular for budget flights also.

 
Turkish airlines: The main air traffic is covered through Istanbul and Ankara airports. Flights to some eastern cities do connect from Ankara. THY operates domestic flies from both airports of Istanbul. Turkish airlines has over 100 planes.
Destinations: Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Denizli, Diyarbakir, Erzurum Gaziantep, Izmir, Kayseri, Konya,  Malatya, Samsun, Sivas, Trabzon, Van.

Anadolu Jet: The sub company of Turkish airlines, which runs as a little bit low cost of Turkish airlines flies. Anadolu Jet uses mainly the second airport of Istanbul (SAW) for their operation and they fly to many cities within Turkey.
Destinations: Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Denizli, Diyarbakir, Erzurum Gaziantep, Izmir, Kayseri, Konya,  Malatya, Samsun, Sivas, Trabzon, Van.

Atlas JET: Atlas air has just started to operate in Domestic flights, they have extensive experiences on International flights, mainly in European destinations. Now they are also in the Domestic Market. Atlasjet has 17 planes.
Destinations: Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Erzincan, , Izmir, Kars, Konya,  Malatya, Siirt, Sivas, Trabzon, Van.

PEGASUS Airways: Pegasus airlines was working on the international lines mainly, however they have started their domestic flights also. The flights departs from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport (2nd airport of Istanbul). Pegasus has 37 Boeing 737 airplanes.
Destinations: Ankara, Adana, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman,Trabzon, Van and many more.

Onur Air: First private company in domestic flights. Onur air flies from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to several destinations in Turkey. Onur air has he largest fleet amongst the private companies with 26 planes, 21 of which are Airbus.
